Does it work without antenna?

You need the Alfa AWUS036H and a big antenna for 2.4 GHz scanning and injection.

The Alfa AWUS036H 1 W 1000 mW with RTL8187L chipset.

It can work with other adapters with a similar chipset.

Also the Alfa AWUS052NH is recommended fro 5.8 GHz Networks.
