How Exposed Are You To Identity Fraud?
Chances are, like many people out there, you're worried about the possibility of being victimized by identity fraud, i.e. getting your personal information stolen from you via the Internet by scammers who will use it to impersonate you and pilfer money or other valuables from you or conduct swindling operations that unjustly sullies your online reputation.

Even if you're not paranoid about the idea, you're most probably curious about what your chances are. Just what are the chances that you could fall victim to minor things like mail theft or major issues like bank account invasion? Yes, you could always get a credit report that might clue you in on whether or not your credit card has been appropriated by ne'er-do-wells or even signup for one of those propriety identity fraud observing services like Debix or LifeLock.

The former solution will take weeks to happen, and having your credit report checked can negatively affect your credit rating to boot. The latter solution, though preferable than playing detective with your own credit history, will still cost you. Fortunately, there's now a website that caters to this specific need by assessing you identity fraud risk completely free of charge!

Developed and launched by ID Analytics, the My ID Score website offers both individuals and whole enterprises security services that defend them against identity fraud, the most prominent of which is an account ID scanner that thoroughly inspects whether or not your identity has been stolen. It does so by checking what types of transactions or activities has been made in your name through its patented ID Network, which is incidentally deemed to be the biggest and most extensive identity fraud database within the United States.

According to Thomas Osherwitz, the ID Analytics Chief Privacy Officer, there are hundreds of data points and variables at play whenever the My ID Score service executes its scans, such as prepaid cellphone purchases done in a brief period of time, credit card requests happening in just one day with different addresses, or many other suspicious activities linked to your name.

The site concentrates mostly on Internet dealings that use your private information and doesn't look at account fraud by which someone uses a stolen credit card or breaches into a network at a payment processor site. It also asks for basic information about you such as your name, date of birth, phone number, and address. You also have an option to include your social security number if you'd like.

From there, you'll be requested to answer multiple choice questions that further verify your identity. Afterwards, you'll be given your rating using an easy to grasp scoring scheme. It's that simple.
