| Criminal attempts frame-up and failed |
New hacking incident occurred when a criminal attempted to set his neighbor up by accessing his network via Wi-Fi. This was utilized by the hacker in his malicious scheme of transmitting e-mails to Joe Biden, the vice-president of the United States. The mails were intended to intimidate the US official regarding the search warrant affidavits, which were broadcasted just a week ago.
Reasons for an action were specified
A case was filed against the 45-year-old computer expert, Barry Ardolf, for the reason of illegally using another person’s computer in spreading e-mails with intentions of menacing the vice-president.
Meanwhile, the affidavits that had become the concern in the e-mail exposed the issues of clashes, which occurred over the years between the criminal and his neighbors from different places where he resided.
No good results from evil use of skills
Based on the statement of Robert Cameron, a Special Agent from FBI, the Blaine, Minneapolis resident constantly used his wide knowledge on computer in his attempts to bother his neighborhood. He also made use of these essential skills in troubling Biden through the e-mails.
More illegal activities lead to more cases
The e-mails that he has been sending over the web contained lewd photos of children and these were sent to the co-workers of his neighbor. Bogus accounts were used and these were labeled according to the name of the said individual. Additionally, his offense becomes heavier as he was charged with data theft and sending of unpleasant messages. Ardolf also created a MySpace account using the name of his neighbor and its profile page contained offensive photos of children.
Evidences were obtained from the “crime scene”
Catching Ardolf had been made possible as the federal investigators trailed all the Ardolf’s mails by mapping out the devices he used in illegally accessing the Wi-Fi of his neighbor. FBI got a hold of the computers, hard drives, as well as routers utilized by Ardolf when they searched his home in the month of July 2009.
Other data were found when FBI initiated the search on the criminal’s house and these include the following: birthdates, social security numbers, income information, and the address where Ardolf’s previous neighbors lived during the past years.
The case that was filed against Ardolf was one count of motivated identity theft. Another was because he was doing pressuring activities against both the president and the descendants of this position.
