Email 2.0 moves with the net towards the new age

Receiving unwanted porn site links and viruses into the e-mail had been widespread in the past. And, there is a big possibility that these historical activities will be revived at the present times.
According to Daniel Dreymann, a representative from the Goodmail Systems, accelerating towards the Web 2.0 leads the e-mail back to version 0.7. Hence, Dreymann suggest that Email 2.0 should be advocated by all the webmail systems today.
Difficulty in restoring the trust
Webmail companies should try its best to re-establish the trust that their users previously presented to them. This trust was shattered because of the various damaging e-mails received by many web enthusiasts during the growing years of the online community like those that include worms, pseudo-love letters, and nude pictures of Anna Kornikova. The users no longer believe that the information that they collect in their inboxes are useful and authentic.
E-mail as the most magnificent online tool
But then, lots of people depend so much on the e-mail system as an effective means of communication. Around 97 percent of families make use of the webmail and about 54 percent deems this to be more practical than old-fashioned snail mail. In addition, 52 percent of the respondents see the e-mail as more convenient than making phone calls and 41 percent use their webmail as instrument for obtaining different bills. Lastly, 64 percent of the people believe that this is the most acceptable way of communicating with the different companies.
Fighting spamming is easier said than done
About two percent of the messages remain and act as source of the unending problems in the web even though the spam filters designed today are capable of sorting out 98 percent of mails successfully. A new problem comes in now that the web shifts towards the new age of IPv6. In reality, the spam filters function by browsing through the IP addresses. But with IPv6, the addresses increases in number that it will be more difficult to sort the incoming mails.
The only solution seen by the security experts is the use of these acronyms: DKIM, ADSP, SPF, and DNSSEC. The new method involves domain names instead of IP addresses in filtering the e-mails. The process works by approving the reputation of the domains that send loads of e-mail. If a sender distributes messages that do not have any malicious contents then the users will learn how to trust the domain.
