Firefox remedy, Mozilla’s month-end offering

Vulnerabilities were detected in the latest version of the Mozilla Firefox browser and these were verified by the company on Thursday. The announcement also included that there will be a remedy patch, which will be available by the end of this month.

Defect that may be deemed to be extra-harmful

It was Evgeny Legerov, a security researcher, who found out the presence of this dangerous fault of the popular web browser a month ago. The said flaw allows the injection of hostile code into a vulnerable computer system. Mozilla compromised with the users by promising the release of the remedy patch for Firefox 3.6 on the 30th of March.

An urgent approach for a vulnerable system

For users who are proficient about the technicalities of a computer system or those who are very much concerned about the safety of their system, the beta version of the Firefox version 3.6.2 may be applied since this contains the needed fix for the browser’s security defect.

Several browsers possess various flaws

At present, problems and updates on browsers are presented through variety of security news. Google found about nine flaws with different degree of severity in their browser. And, on Wednesday, the company made an update on the Windows version of the Google Chrome browser in order to fix these defects.

The update of Google includes important features and patches that can repair the bugs of the browser. This Google update was released just before the start of the pwn2own hacking contest at the CanSecWest security conference.

Flaws may lead to a greater damage

It is true that when a defect is not remedied, more severe problems may arise in the future. The same thing happens in faulty browsers, wherein a mechanism might be built, which can attack a computer system. It might also sidestep the security restrictions of a computer like that of in sandboxing. And, to avoid these worst scenarios, it is recommended that the users upgrade their browser to version 4.1.249.1036.

Earn cash from catching bugs

Sergey Glazunov was the first to collect a pay-out amounting to 1,337 US dollars from the bug bounty program of Google. This man was the one who found the flaw in the WebKit engine that is utilized by Google Chrome.
