450,000 US dollar worth of money ripped off by five

Based on the latest news, the federal prosecutors filed a case against the group of five who were linked on a swindling incident. As seen in the story, these people ripped off about 450,000 US dollars from a specific town in California. This took place with the use of the login information of a bank account that was taken by the suspected individuals.
Jennifer Ann Woodard, Lance Corbett Holt, Deago Larase Smith, Anothony Leonard Bobbitt, and John L. Quinn II are the five people who were accused of swindling hundred thousand dollars. The prosecutors charged the case in the North Carolina since this was the place where most of the alleged people were residing. However, the involved individuals still have not showed up in the trials.
Stealing had been very easy
According to the accusation, these people utilized several bank accounts in order to make the money they embezzled legal. This was done in the month of May in the year 2007 right after they swindled the cash out of the account owned by the Carson City.
After this move, they tried to withdraw the cash from the said accounts and transfer it to the accounts of the still unknown accomplices. The five individuals were able to perform this illegal activity with the use of key-logging applications, which were found to be lurking within the computer system of the official.
Only little amount of money was returned
Fortunately, Carson was able to get back just about 44,000 US dollars of the total stolen amount of funds. The officials of the city are unknowledgeable about how and who installed the malicious software on the laptop.
In accordance to the statement made by Karen Avilla, treasurer of the city of Carson, the investigators are oblivious if the malware was installed either through an e-mail or through a website. Hence, this case has been left unresolved until this moment.
But then, it was reported just a week ago that the malicious program that attacked the laptop of Avilla was already determined. Based on the study, the type of malware that harmed the system was a Talex Trojan.

In response to this embarrassing incident, the city made certain adjustments when it comes to the procedure of performing deals with the use of machines. And, on the latest system, three specific officials are bound to be informed whenever business deals occur. The notice will be sent through the following instruments text message, e-mail, and fax.
