Samsung Wave handed out with Trojans creeping around

It was confirmed that many of the Samsung Wave handsets, which were recently distributed by the company, have some kind of malicious software lurking within the microSD card packed on each of the handsets.
Infectious microSD cards were dispensed
According to some of the security firms that assisted in checking the S8500 smartphone, the file found on each of the 1-gigabyte-memory microSD cards was verified to be a Trojan infection.
The company Samsung also proved the some of the handsets that were intended to be sold in the market of Germany had microSD cards containing malware. However, consumers should no longer worry since the crisis is now under control according to the distributor.
Autorun application works rapidly
Upon careful examination of the handsets, it was found out that once the S8500 is connected to a computer the autorun application will be activated. And then, the malicious software will be the one responsible for automatically downloading a certain program into the system, which then turns out to be a typical form of Trojan infection.
As written by the security advisor of the popular antivirus firm F-Secure Sean Sullivan on his recent blog post, the infection that was found is a Trojan.Generic.3932466. He also added that they were able to gauge the uncultivated character of this Trojan but it was quite tolerable.
Everything is now in order
The spokesman from Samsung also reassured the customers that this security issue is a simple isolated case and that only those handsets distributed in the market of Germany are affected. Additionally, the company made necessary actions upon discovering the said problem in their products. And as of the present, all their handsets were examined and are clean of any infections.
Samsung already encountered a similar situation of an embedded malware in their products. Just about two years ago, the manufacturer also discovered that their electronic picture frame held a certain type of harmful software.
As said on the blog posted by the senior technology consultant of Sophos, Graham Cluley, the only way that one can be fully protected is to take time and scan all items, which are being connected into a computer, for presence of infection. This should always be done regardless of the popularity of the distributor and the freshness of the merchandise.
