Avira, a Germany-based antivirus software manufacturer, produced their newest version of Avira Antivir and upgraded it to version 10. And as of the latest, the most up-to-date edition of the software is now ready for download.

The popular producer also released installers for the free software including Avira AntiVir Personal, Avira AntiVir Professional, and Avira Premium Security suite through various download sites.

Up-to-date features to be watched out for

Avira incorporated in their non-free edition of antivirus software the Avira AntiVir ProActive, a feature which is the company’s own behavioral blocking component. This operates by detecting processes based on the behavior within the system.

Another element of the newly released antivirus is the more advanced generic repair function. This works in such a way that it can fix files that are injected with malicious codes.

Time limit software for children

In addition to the latest features produced by Avira, the Security Suite is the item that gives parents the greatest benefits. This program serves as a parental control for computer systems in order to control the time of the children’s access to the internet. This also has a GUI, which is made a little simpler compared to the original.

Test shows how powerful it was created

Before the AntiVir Personal 10 was released for public use, it first underwent trials in collaboration with AV-Test. And through this, it was seen that the new product was able to detect about 98.6 percent of malware infections. Also, it was able to attain high rating when it comes to the rootkit detection.

Every program has its own shortcoming

During the process of testing the new antivirus product, innovations were also witnessed especially on its clean-up utility. However, the program crashed down while doing other clean-up processes.

According to Andreas Max, an AV-Test representative, the antivirus product still requires more improvement. But still, the speed of the computer system will be not greatly affected after the installation of the update.

The users of AntiVir security pack will receive this new version through the standard updates officiated by Avira. And, those who are using the personal version must download the installer of version 10 via download servers.
