Heightened data protection being advocated by BSA

A campaign for the collaboration between the government and various businesses is being promoted by the Business Software Alliance (BSA). Security of the data storages and web is being upheld by this organization so as to assure European users that their confidential data are kept secured at all times.
Education of users must be encouraged
An investigation was carried out in European countries including France, Germany, Spain, Poland, and United Kingdom. In this survey, it was found out that a large populace in Europe is oblivious of the facts regarding the database of their private information.
According to the survey conducted by BSA, there is one in every five users who is unaware that his or her personal data are stored in the “cloud”. In addition to this, there are about less than two-thirds of the respondents who are unknowledgeable regarding the implication of “in the cloud”.
A method of working hand-in-hand is important
Respondents were also asked regarding which among the web entities is truly answerable to data protection. Greater than one-fourth of all the respondents believed that various groups are accountable to safeguarding their personal information and these consist of the government, business groups, the technology corporations, and the users themselves.
People hold opposing views on certain issues
The figures gathered on the survey performed by the Business Software Alliance will be featured in this group’s third Cyber Security Awareness Day, which is held every year, at Brussels. In this event, the organization will include in their discussion the concern of the respondents regarding data protection and it would be focusing not on individual but on an international level.
But then, there are disparities in the outlooks of citizens from one country to another. People from countries Spain and Poland are very eager to participate in this kind of coordinated tactic. And, those living in United Kingdom are not as wholehearted with regards to this issue compared to those from other European countries.
Consumers wish for solid alliance against thieves
According to BSA’s senior director of government relations, Francisco Mingorance, citizens of Europe seek for worldwide alliance and headship in order to safeguard the confidential data from the cunning web crooks.
In response to the European users’ interests, BSA is now structuring a strategy that is mainly about the universal web data protection. This will assist in guiding the upcoming collaboration with the purpose of protecting the web community.
