The technical glitch permits the users to get themselves the followers that they need. This can be done by just typing the word “accept” and beside it is the other user’s registered Twitter name. The hole in the Twitter’s system could have been used in initiating the online crooks’ spamming activity. The spammers might have exploited the bug by creating large mailing lists only if the procedure that would be utilized is programmed.
There was a certain incident when this hole was exposed that even the celebrities’ Twitter accounts were automatically added to follow someone else’s messages without the individual’s permission.

Repair for the damage is still on-going
According to the blog post written by the social networking company, they were able to spot the said bug and they promptly fixed the problem. In response to this event, they are currently acting on the incident and they will rollback all the exploits, which happened when the glitch was still present.
As seen by the administrators of Twitter, the number of follower and the following groups are zero. And, the company promised the users that they will solve this problem immediately.
