A new update regarding data leak prevention tool will be presented for the improvement of DeviceLock. This patch is for the purpose of including the network connections and USB ports in the field of protection. There will also be an additional security, which will avoid any confidential information from extending past an assigned endpoint.
The updated edition, DeviceLock 7, will be distributed as a beta version at Infosec Europe that will be held late in the month of April. In addition, the service announced that the full version of this DeviceLock 7 will be released in the third quarter of this year.
The purpose of the distribution of this version is to let the consumers have the feel of the said product and get their reactions before the complete edition is completed.
A strong block to prevent attempts of penetration
DeviceLock 7 prevents users from gaining easy penetration into various devices such as USB, FireWire, and other related plug-and-play gadgets. Thus, reproduction of company files will be prevented as well. There will also be control over the network protocols since it is capable of determining the kind of data being transmitted with the use of webmail, instant messaging applications, and social networking services.
Based on a statement made by Alexe Lesnykh, the business development manager of the concerned firm, management of the data channels will be possible with the use of DeviceLock 7.
Transmission of data will not occur in an instant
The new product functions in such a way that kernel-level drivers are being utilized in order to interrupt processes whenever an application connects with another network to send a data. DeviceLock is capable of probing a certain data before it undergoes encryption. And, once it passes the said examination, it will then be sent through the web.
This device is also capable of determining the type of file being sent whether it is a PDF or a word document. It can do an assessment on different data in order to verify if it passes the specific conditions set by an organization.
No burden from the thought of starting from nothing
In addition to Lesnykh’s statement, the managers of an organization will have a definite control and they will have the capability of utilizing syntax and semantics to shape their policy. However, DeviceLock will also have its own set of dictionary for certain trades like the finance. This will lessen the load on the part of organizations wherein establishment of dictionary will not start from zero.
BitLocker To GO encryption tool will also be incorporated in this latest version of the DeviceLock and this will be applicable in the Windows 7 Enterprise edition. This feature allows firms to implement encryption of data on removable gadgets.
The data leak prevention tool may possibly be the best with regards to affordability and performance level. However, the firm has not yet released the exact price designated for this tool.
