On Tuesday, security firm McAfee declared its plan of Initiative to fight against the cyber law breakers.
The security company is planning to work with law implementation officials and to collaborate internationally in fighting cyber crime and to set up a cyber crime response desk to help the victims of the online cheating and to help the consumers and the business people who are prone to these attacks. In a statement which they announced, the response unit will assist the victims in collecting the essential evidence to sue the criminals or bring the fraudsters in front of law.
According to Dave De Walt McAfee president and chief executive officer, Cyber crime is an increasing problem which shows effect on everybody, While a lot has been done to fight against the cyber crime since many years, but there are only few cases that the case has been solved, The chances of getting caught are a many times larger than a fraud done with an online bank. This should be changed.
Many companies, particularly Microsoft has good cyber crime prevention programs. In 2003, Microsoft unveiled a bounty program which focused in rewarding those people who provide information, which helps them in the prosecution of virus and worm writers. In 2005, the company also awarded two people with huge amount, after they provided information which led to the arrest and conviction of the person who released the Sasser worm.
The FBI has greatly worked on forming international relationships to help investigate the frauds that extend beyond united state's jurisdiction. The most recent success in the law enforcement agencies is that of catching 20 people in Romania who were charged with online fraud this year.
McAfee plans to collaborate with few firms and law enforcement agencies to solve the problems and to protect the consumers from the cyber crime.
According to the McAfee officials, competing is never a problem when we are fighting to cyber crime. McAfee intends to take appropriate initiatives or broader partnerships to prevent the cyber crimes.
