Problems with the E-voting

As the United states got ready for the historic presidential election, voting and security experts persist to put for better check on the machines that will record the votes and tally up the ballots.

There are reports that electronic voting machines are marking a vote for a different candidate than the selected one which is worrying the election officers. The same has been reported in Colorado, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. According to Wired news an online video that appeared to show the problem has been attacked with words for misleading.

Election officials have told voters not to worry about the reports and asked them to check whether the vote is correctly recorded at the polls. West Virginia's secretary of State Betty Ireland made it clear by saying not to be afraid to ask for help and requested voters to double-check their ballots. She advised the citizens who are yet to vote. To notify a poll officer if they come across any problem at the voting booth, they can that poll officer until the voter is satisfied that they have cast their vote. Election officials continue to say that the electronic machines act as the best way to catch hold of the fraud votes.

Pan Smith, president of Verified Voting told to the reporters that only a third of the states do a truly meaningful analyze following the election, as the uncovering evidence of fraud could lead to distrust among voters, some election officials have decided that its better to not know about the fraud. The thought that it’s better not to know is a danger to our democratic system.

The computer- security experts called for voter-verifiable and machine- independent of recounting the votes. No matter who wins the election? The outcome will make history.Barack Obama could be the United States first African-American president. While vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin would be its first female vice president.
